Core Competencies

The CBC Curriculum is built around seven core competencies that help with the learning process.

1- Communication and Collaboration. This ensures that students are able to communicate with others within the community they live in. Humans are social beings so ensuring a child knows how to communicate effectively is important in their life.

2- Critical thinking and problem-solving. Critical thinking is an essential skill for students where they are able to use systematic methods to analyze a situation and come up with a solution for that specific situation. Problem-solving is a by-product of critical thinking. Humans use critical thinking to solve a problems and real-life situations.

3- Creativity and Imagination. This is a competency that allows students to think creatively and innovate new ideas for society. This eventually prevents students from being consumerists.

4- Citizenship.  This competency ensures that students become a good citizen that knows the rights, privileges and duties of a citizen or the community they live in.

5- Digital Literacy. In this age, students should have the proficiency for using technology. This competency ensures graduate students are able to use digital tools and are proficient at it.

6- Learning to learn. Human beings have a natural incline to learn, so this competency enhances this and allows students to want to continue learning even after leaving school.

7- Self-efficacy. This competency is key because it allows student to have the belief that they are capable of achieving whatever goal they have their mind set to do.

CBC Curriculum is a system which helps students have the capacity to navigate life outside of school. It has the necessary framework for students to explore for their own career path and develop the necessary skills for it.
